Research Day ‘98 brings stiff competition

Competition was tough on Friday, Nov. 6, for the 33rd annual Research Day.

Two hundred three presentations took place at l5 minute intervals that included oral and poster presentations. Teams of four judges evaluated each session and graded on scientific content, subject matter, clarity and quality of delivery.

  • First place winners in the amount of $500 went to: Lacy Pounder, Kevin Ahlberg, James Loging, Robert Meya, Taetia Phillips, Alema Galijatovic, Amy Ball, Leah Cutter, Kristie Blade, Mark Horney, R.P. Visconti, Kashelle Otherson, Matthew Biagioli, Joseph Park, Hideyukia Murakami, Michael Bernard, Jennifer Fraylick, Russell Norris, Vijaykumar Kasi.
  • Second place winners in the amount of $200 went to: Antuan Crawford, Brain Bednarski, Kim Boleza, Vicki Chung, Laura Bolchoz, Jodi Gore, William Tuxworth, Sajeevani Gunasinghe, Eric Finlay, Angela Brown, Martin Laser, Daniel McRanken, Steve Riggs, Justin Griffin, Hsun Ku, Tobias L. Pettus, Karen Kubitz, Korey Johnson, Kevin Kennedy.

Library awards prizes

Additional prizes were given from the library for Informatic/Bioinformatics.

Wenle Zhao was the winner with his presentation titled “A New Treatment Allocation Method for Randomized Controlled Clinical Trials.”

Martina Mueller was runner up with her presentation titled “Developing an Internet Query System in a Multicenter Clinical Trial.”
