Crouch to chair YES Campaign

Rosalie K. Crouch, Ph. D., associate provost for research and dean of the College of Graduate Studies, will serve as the chair of the 1998 Yearly Employee Support (YES) Campaign.

The YES Campaign, an annual in-house fundraising drive in which employees make donations to support the research, education and patient care programs provided by the university, has raised more than $1 million since its inception in 1988. And it's helped transform the university into one of the finest healthcare institutions in the country.

Crouch is looking forward to helping the campaign meet its 1998 goal of $215, 000 and to celebrate a decade of employee giving. “Dr. Crouch serves as an inspiration and example of how employee support can shape the future of MUSC and our community. As an employee of the Medical University for more than 23 years, Dr. Crouch has influenced a multitude of lives as a teacher, researcher, doctor and philanthropist,” said Maureen McCartney, YES Campaign coordinator.

In addition to ongoing annual support of various research and scholarship programs, Crouch and her husband, William Crouch, M.D., recently established an endowed fund for fellowships to benefit students in neural and visual sciences and addictive disorders.

“Through Dr. Crouch’s commitment and generosity, this endowment will improve lives for generations to come,” said McCartney. “Dr. Crouch is only one example of how employees shape our future. Strength comes in numbers and with a team of 8,000 strong, every employee donation will have an impact on MUSC and our community.”

This year’s campaign will take place throughout the month of April when employees will be asked to invest in an area of the university that is most important to them. Gifts can be made through payroll deduction, and pledges can be fulfilled throughout a 12-month period. This year is both the YES Campaign’s 10-year anniversary, and a celebration of $1 million raised by MUSC employees....and counting!

“It is a celebration of survivors that have benefited from ground-breaking research, of graduates who have been equipped with an education despite financial hardships and of the 8,000 employees that work and give everyday throughout the year to make these dreams a reality,” said Crouch.
