Responsible Conduct of Research course to be held

A course on the Responsible Conduct of Research has been organized and is being offered to all postdoctoral fellows at MUSC from 8:30 to 10 a.m. beginning April 6 at the Institute of Psychiatry North, room 526.

The format for the course will be an informal discussion of case scenarios dealing with scientific research ethics like mentor-student-institution relationships, scientific record keeping, data ownership, intellectual property, authorship, plagiarism, peer review and confidentiality, scientific misconduct, use of animals in research, use of humans in research, genetic technology, public money—private gain or for profit science, and whistleblower rights.

To register for the course, or for more information call William Boggan, Ph.D., at 792-5222 or e-mail <bogganwo@musc.edu>

There is no charge for the course, which will be held for six consecutive weeks on Mondays and Wednesdays, but the course book must be purchased at a cost of approximately $15.50 and is available through Boggan.
