Three times the fun

Robin and David Russell have a right to brag. Four weeks ago, they gave birth to triplets. Sitting in their living room with pictures of Miranda, Foster, Grainger and 2-year-old Temperance scattered on the coffee table, they are bragging.

But this morning, their words of praise are about their “other” family: Roger Newman, M.D., and his staff at MUSC.

“I cannot say enough good things about the care I received at MUSC,” Robin said. “From the assistant taking our insurance information to the radiologists and ultrasound technicians, my experience at the Medical University was incredible. And everyone knows that Dr. Newman is my hero.”

There will be a lot of new names added to the Russells' Christmas card list this year. Both Robin and David agreed that the Prenatal Wellness Center is “five-star” and affirmed that good prenatal care is the foundation for healthy babies. Last week’s check-up was proof enough.

“At three weeks, we had a 6-pound 12-ounce, a 6-pound 8-ounce, and a 6-pound 6-ounce. Two heifers and a bull,” laughed Robin.

There is no doubt that Robin and David will always have a special place in their hearts for MUSC. Both have stated that the temptation to move to Charleston has been a strong one. “At times I wish that I could officially be a part of Dr. Edwards’ terrific team there,” Robin said.

Mail and Pampers pick-up will still come to their Myrtle Beach address, however. Robin and David know that they have their own team to captain. “Parents always worry about making good decisions for their childrens’ futures. We know that by choosing MUSC, we are capable of making the best.”
