1998 Children’s Miracle Network to be held May 30-31

The 15th annual Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Weekend of Champions will begin May 30-31. The event will be broadcast from MUSC’s Wellness Center from 9 p.m. to midnight, Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Sunday.

The Children's Hospital Fund and CMN are celebrating it's champions. The term champion is used to describe someone who has won a victory, but no victory is won alone. The doctors, nurses, therapists and volunteers provide care and treatment. The families provide love and hope. Proceeds raised through CMN benefits Lowcountry kids through the MUSC Children’s Hospital Fund. The monies go directly towards research and patient care for children in the state of South Carolina.

This year's CMN miracle children are Monica Kreber, 8, of Mount Pleasant, and Magno Carvalho, 8, of Myrtle Beach. In addition to the broadcast, radio station 95SX will sponsor a Radio-Thon for 95 hours beginning at 6 p.m. May 27 until 5 p.m. May 31.

MUSC faculty and staff, and the public are encouraged to watch and support the broadcast by calling in pledges to 792-8000.
