Beasley to give commencement speech

Approximately 722 students from MUSC’s six colleges are expected to participate in the university’s 169th commencement ceremony scheduled for 9 a.m., May 15, on the campus horseshoe. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at McAlister Field House on The Citadel campus.

S.C. Gov. David Beasley will present the commencement address. Honorary degrees will be presented to Brigadier General (Ret.) Clara L. Adams-Ender, former deputy commanding general, military District of Washington; Dr. Samuel S. Spicer, professor emeritus of pathology and laboratory medicine at MUSC, who in his career has been recognized as the most cited researcher in South Carolina and the Southeast; and John M. Spratt, U.S. representative from the 5th Congressional District of South Carolina.
