Elevator modernization schedule update

Clinical Science Building

The west bank of elevators is scheduled to be in service the week of July 27. Two elevators in the east bank will then be shut down for modernization work. The third elevator in this bank will remain in service and provide access for disabled individuals to the third floor radiology area. This elevator will only operate between floors one and three and should be used only by disabled individuals.

Institute of Psychiatry

Modernization of elevator #44 is almost complete. The car has been placed in service, but there are still a few items remaining to be completed. Elevator #45 has been removed from service and renovations are scheduled to be completed by Aug. 8.

Harborview Tower

Renovations to elevator #79 have been completed. Both elevators #77 and 78 are out of service and renovations are scheduled to be completed in September. The modernized elevator #79 should handle as much passenger traffic as two unrenovated elevators. It is necessary to take the remaining two elevators out of service at the same time since only one dispatcher can be used at a time. The older elevator dispatchers are not compatible to the new solid state system.

College of Nursing

Renovations to elevator #41 were delayed due to equipment delivery problems. The elevator should be placed back in service around Aug. 8. Elevator #44 will then be renovated and work should be completed in late September.
