Salary supplement reporting requirements

The 1997-98 General Appropriations Act required employees who received salary supplements to report the information to the Budget and Control Board. However, the reporting requirements for 1998-99 have changed. The following outlines the reporting requirement for both fiscal years.

The following procedures pertain only to the reporting of supplemental salaries. They do not replace the reporting requirements of the State Ethics Law or any university or departmental reporting requirements.

Reporting Requirements

Employees who received salary supplements during fiscal year 1997-98 must report this information directly to the Budget and Control Board by Oct. 1.

State law defines a salary supplement “as any compensation, excluding travel reimbursement, from an affiliated public charity, foundation, clinical faculty practice plan, or other public source or any supplement froma private source to the salary appropriated for a state employee.”
