Clinical, patient education website activated

The Clinical and Patient Education Website officially opened on Feb. 4.

Access is obtained through Education or Patient Care on the MUSC Home Page. Select Clinical and Patient Education. At left on the website is Staff Education and Patient Education.

Classes offered are listed with dates, locations, costs and prerequisites under Course Catalog. These include such topics as advanced cardiac life support, basic cardiac life support, chemotherapy, conscious sedation, critical care, central venous lines, etc.

Calendars of monthly educational activities are listed under Monthly Calendars.

Course Registration is still under construction. Registration will occur on line when this process is completed.

Patient education materials are listed under Educational Materials.

Current materials relate to cancer, transplantation, and vascular patients.

Links have been established to other well known national sites as the American Diabetes Associaiton, the National Institutes of Health, New York On Line to Health (NOAH), etc. Links also exist to other MUSC sites as the Digestive Disease Center, Hollings Cancer Center, South Carolina Diabetes Initiative. Patient education plans related to cardiovascular, oncology, birth control, neurology and ophthamology may be found under Patient Plans.

New patient education materials and plans will be added as developed and approved.

All materials can be printed from the website. There is an evaluation form on the Clinical and Patient Education website. Please fill one out.
