Students part of honor council

New College of Health Professions Honor Council representatives: Heather Herdt, Heather Davis, Bruce Cambell, Lisa Nichols (faculty advisor), Elaine Jackson, Alta Lee, Bethanne Swacus, and Karen Eippert (faculty advisor).

The College of Health Professions (CHP) has had an honor code for a number of years. In the past, issues involving an honor code violation have been handled through the dean's office.

Recently there has been a renewed effort to involve students in the process to a greater extent.

Consequently, the university has revisited the whole issue regarding the honor code and an honor council. They have determined that including students on the honor council would be an asset. The current honor council for the College of Health Professions has eight student representatives and two faculty members.

The honor council will review any possible infractions of the honor code for CHP. In order to keep the process as anonymous as possible, a locked box will be placed in the dean's office on top of the filing cabinets as a place for students to leave reports of any suspected violation of the honor code.

The honor council will review all complaints or allegations received. To the extent that it is possible, reports will be kept confidential.
