On March 26, Robert Stephen Curtis was the first student to successfully defend his doctoral project in the Department of Health Administration and Policy. He will participate in the MUSC commencement ceremonies on May 21.

Curtis began attending classes in the executive doctoral program in 1996 as part of his studies in health administration and leadership.

Curtis is the president and CEO of Cardinal Health System in Muncie, Indiana.

In his project, he analyzed cases of collaboration and developed a model for effective relations between hospital and physicians in their effort to form beneficial alliances.
