1999/2000 Faculty Senate election needs your vote

by Adrian Reuben, Chair, Faculty Senate 1998/1999 and
Francine Margolius, Chair, Governance Committee

This year and in the future, faculty balloting will be electronic.

Voting is permitted for eligible faculty, namely those who hold full-time non-modified academic ranks from instructor and above.

You can only vote for candidates from your own college or unit. You can vote up to the number of candidates allowed in your college/unit, as indicated on the ballot form.  You can only fill in a ballot form once; the system will not allow multiple votes from a given faculty, nor voting outside your college/unit.

To vote electronically you must have an MUSC network account.

If you have an MUSC e-mail address, then you have a MUSC Network account which already permits you to access the library MUSC Network Account (formerly known as an ARCS UNIX account).   To obtain such an account, bring your MUSC ID badge to the Reference Desk in the Library and complete an MUSC network account form. You will receive your user ID and password within three working days.
If you have forgotten your password, bring your MUSC ID badge to either Missy Anderson or Nancy McKeehan in the Systems Office on the 4th floor of the Library to have your password reset.

To vote, go directly to <http://www2.edserv.musc.edu/facsen/election.las> and follow the instructions on the screen or go to faculty senate webpage at <http://www.musc.edu/facsen/> and follow the instructions for electronic balloting.

Voting began on  Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 12:01 p.m. and will end on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 12:01 p.m. allowing a full week to vote.

If you have any difficulties using the electronic system, e-mail the faculty senate office facsen@musc.edu for help or call 792-4612, but remember you must have an MUSC network account. If you know of any faculty member who does not have e-mail access, give them a printout of this message and send them to the library to get an account that they can use from there to vote.

Results will be available on the web site soon after voting closes, and new and re-elected senators will be invited to attend the Oct. 5 Faculty Senate meeting at 7:45 a.m.

Please exercise your democratic right and vote!
