Letters to Dr. Greenberg

Since becoming president, I have received many letters commending our faculty and staff for outstanding patient care.  These letters from patients and their families provide ample evidence of their high regard for our clinical services. I am pleased to share some of them with you, and recognize those who are providing skilled and compassionate care.

Dear Dr. Greenberg,
This past week, I had a wonderful experience in working with Rhonda Moore (a nurse supervisor on the 8th floor) and with Dr. Sherri Passarell.

The personnel at MUSC, and especially Ms. Moore and Dr. Passarell did a marvelous job.

I am sure being the President of MUSC is a difficult job, but it is made better with employees such as these.

Dear Dr. Greenberg,
Our family is eager to express appreciation and gratitude for the excellence in medical care and simple human kindness we received at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Our father was a patient in Neuro ICU and 7 East from July 22 - Aug. 23. Every medical crisis was handled with calm expertise and confidence and every family anxiety handled with long-suffering patience. Dr. Byron Bailey, Dr. Tim Hopkins and the nursing staff in Neuro ICU saved our father's life. They were especially capable and patient when we did not understand the delicacy and unpredictability of neurological events and their treatment.

Dr. Eric Olyejar (who arranged a consult for a bleeding complication) and the nursing staff on 7 East define excellence.

Dear Dr. Greenberg,
The family of the late David Waldron of Georgetown, SC, would like to take a few moments to recognize your dedicated and caring staff for assisting us during a most trying time in our lives.

David had many admissions to your hospital—the last being in June. We would like to express our gratitude for the excellent care he received. We would like to especially offer our sincere appreciation to the medical staff. Doctors A. Reuben, I.R. Willner, Curran, J. Smith, B. Moore and Gomez. Who throughout this ordeal kept us informed about treatments and procedures. We noted with all of their responsibilities they still made us aware of their concern for us. We would also like to thank the chaplains who offered us spiritual guidance. We say to them “Thank You.”

David was a patient on 10 West. We would also like to thank the nursing staff that displayed professionalism and caring to a family in such distress for they were always there.

We can attest to their dedication to their patients. We would also like to include the transplant coordinators.

Our family wanted you to know that you have a very professional and dedicated staff.
