Library presents prizes during SRD2000 

The MUSC Library presented the winners of the Informatics/Bioinformatics prizes for the 35th Annual Student Research Day held Nov. 3.
 
Ruth G. Jenkins, right, captured first place in the Informatics/Bioinformatics presentation. 
Second place went to Russell A. Goodman. Elizabeth Connor, associate professor, assistant director of public services and education, presented the recipients with their prizes.

First prize of $200 and a copy of the Endnote Bibliographic Management Software went to Ruth G. Jenkins for her poster entitled “Re-engineering the Practice Partner Research Network Database as a Web-based Information System.” 
 
Second Prize of $100 and a copy of Endnote was awarded to Russell A. Goodman for his poster entitled “A Markov Model Monte-Carlo Simulation for Forecasting Long-term Health Outcomes in HIV Disease.” 
 
The projects demonstrate excellent  understanding and use of informatics, computing and communication technology in the health care field.
