Bell apppointed to U.S. Olympic Project Gold 2000

Being no stranger to athletic competition, Thaddeus Bell, M.D., assistant dean of minority students, has taken his involvement in athletics to the highest level—the Olympics.

Bell was appointed to the U.S. Olympic program, Project Gold 2000. The project, which stands for Guaranteed Olympic Leadership Development, focuses on women and other ethnic minorities who have an interest in the U.S. Olympic movement.   The program highlights include direct work with key officials and sports figures within the movement and leadership development among those participating.

Bell also lends his expertise to the Lowcountry as a co-founder of the Bell and Schlau Track and Field Seminar and Relays.

The seminar was created to promote physical fitness and good citizenship among the youth of the Lowcountry.
