Letter to the editor

After Elizabeth's heart appointment at MUSC, we went to the gift shop. Elizabeth was looking at some Birthstone Teddy Bears and she wanted one. I told her I was sorry but I didn't have the money for the bear, however, I did have enough money for a word search book.

Elizabeth and her bear

As we were paying for the book a gentleman addressed Elizabeth with a bag and said “Happy Merry Christmas early.” In the bag was a teddy bear and it was Elizabeth's birthstone.

This man was truly an angel, for God used him to bless my little girl. See, Elizabeth's father and I are separated and money just isn't here for Christmas for Elizabeth or her brother and sister. This kind person showed us it's not what you get for Christmas but the thought behind it.

“Sir, whether you are a heavenly angel, or an angel that God used on Earth, you have blessed this family so much you can't even imagine. You are truly a loving, kind hearted person and we thank you for your kindness and love. I tried to find you to give you a hug but you were gone. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much. This bear will stay with Elizabeth forever. Thank you for being my little girl's angel from God.”

Merry Christmas to our angel.
