CDM presents posters during dentistry meeting 

The College of Dental Medicine (CDM) had excellent representation at the first joint Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors and American Association of Public Health Dentistry meeting held in Oak Brook, Ill.
 
The college had three poster presentations. 
 
Sally Nesmith, DMD, CDM Class of '81 and adjunct instructor, presented “Absenteeism Data at a Charleston High School: Preliminary Evaluation.” Her coauthors were Linda M. Kaste, DDS, Ph.D., associate professor and director, Division of Dental Public Health and Oral Epidemiology, and Yvonne Michel, Ph.D., colleges of Nursing and Medicine.   
 
Kaste presented “Clinical Exposures of a Dominican Republic Dental Program.” 
 
Susan G. Reed, DDS, DrPH, presented “The Impact of a New Emphasis on Dental Student Outreach.” 
 
Her coauthors were Kaste, C. Nicole White, graduate student in biometry and epidemiology, and Sharon H. Crossley, RDH, CDM community academic coordinator .
  
South Carolina was further represented by Regina Creech, MS, Trident health district dental health educator, and Betsy Wolff, MPH, coordinator for the South Carolina Children's Oral Health Coalition and CDC grant to South Carolina on School-based Oral Health Education, Prevention and Treatment.
