Annual Carolina Children's Charity slated for Sept. 16

The 13th Annual Carolina Children’s Charity  Strut will be held Sept. 16 at Charles Towne Landing.

The event is open to groups, companies, families, athletic clubs, churches, schools, neighbors, any organizations or individuals looking to have a fun day. Strutters get donations to support their participation in this fund-raising event.

Awards are given to the group or individuals bringing in the largest amount of money.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. with the Strut beginning at 10 a.m. Registration cost is $15 per person. Each person who brings in at least $50 in donations will receive a Strut T-shirt. There will be two routes. Both routes are within the confines of Charles Towne Landing.

One route is for the serious and seasoned  walker  and another for those who prefer to stroll. Check point rest stops will be set up along the way where water will be provided. At the end of the walk, each “strutter” will be served a complimentary lunch sponsored by Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pepsi Cola, and Rococo Bakery.

Carolina Children's Charity is a totally local charity and helps children of the Lowcountry with birth defects or disabling diseases.

The charity purchases equipment and supplies for MUSC Children's Hospital, and  helps many Lowcountry children who are patients at MUSC by paying medical bills or buying special needs equipment for them.

Carolina Children's Charity donated funds to equip the  MUSC Dental School van so that it could serve children who are unable to travel to have dentistry needs met.
