College of Pharmacy ranks among best in U.S. News

U.S. News & World Report ranks pharmacy schools by reputation. Rankings are based on the results of surveys sent to deans, faculty, and administrators of accredited graduate programs.

Respondents were asked to rate the academic quality of programs based on their own assessment of the quality of curriculum.  Scores for each school were  averaged across all respondents who rated that school. A total of 65 doctor of pharmacy programs were reviewed.

Dr. John Cormier

“The College of Pharmacy's national reputation is based on the longstanding commitment of our faculty who have a vision for pharmacy practice in the future and commitment to the mission of educating and training the very best practitioners,” said College of Pharmacy Dean John Cormier, Pharm.D.

In 1997, the college converted its entry-level degree from a post-baccaulareate Pharm.D. training  to an entry-level Pharm D. degree. The first class of the new entry-level program graduates in May 2001.

“During this transition our goal has been to maintain a level of excellence in our programs," Cormier said. "Our ranking recognizes us for having achieved that.”
