Dear MUSC, MUHA, UMA, CFC Family Member:

Soon you will be receiving materials regarding the 2000 Trident United Way Campaign. We are writing you in advance to urge you to read the materials and consider them carefully.

To most of us, making a charitable contribution is a personal decision. Whether you donate your resources to finding a cure for cancer, funding the arts or supporting your church, you have a personal desire to improve our quality of life. When you make a donation through Trident United Way, you not only improve the quality of life for thousands of individuals in our community, you make an investment in the world where our children grow.

United Way is the largest supporter of health and human services after the government. Locally, 40 Trident United Way agencies fund programs for the promotion of health and healing, increasing self sufficiency, nurturing children and youth, strengthening families and supporting older people.

As a team of 9,000 plus employees, Medical University of South Carolina, Medical University Hospital Authority, University Medical Associates and Carolina Family Care will come together to support the 2000 Trident United Way Campaign. Since we are one of the largest employers in the Charleston area, the MUSC family will have a significant impact on the programs United Way agencies are able to provide this coming year. We also hope to continue our great success of last year in having the largest number of Palmetto Society members in the tri-county area.

We hope that you will join us and fellow MUSC/MUHA/UMA/CFC employees in making an investment in our community and future. Pride in our university and fellow employees is reaffirmed every time we extend ourselves to meet our responsibilities to our fellow Lowcountry residents.

Thank you for all you do on behalf of our community and State.

With best personal regards,
