Protection from personal liability seminar to be held 

 The Department of Human Resources Management encourages managers and supervisors to attend its training seminar of the month, “Employment Law for Managers and Supervisors.” 

The special seminar will be offered in two consecutive half-day sessions from 9 a.m. to noon on Oct. 4 and 5. 

The guest speaker, Roberta Smith Tracy, Esq., director of equal opportunity at The Citadel, has more than 20 years of professional legal and executive management experience in the fields of administrative law, labor law and labor relations, arbitration, contract negotiations and education administration. 

Tracy has served as labor hearings and appeals hearing officer, City of New York; director of labor relations, the U.S. Department of Education; contracts oficer, U.S. agency for international development and law clerk-attorney, U.S. Department of Justice, Washington, D.C. 

She will be addressing such issues as: The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA); Privacy in the Workplace; The Manager's Role in Preventing Sexual and Other Forms of Harassment; Preventing Wrongful Discharge; Workplace Torts; Whistle-blowing and Retaliation.
