Golf classic set for Sept. 23, 24  Charles Barkley. Billy Baldwin. John Elway. Here’s your chance to watch and meet these celebrities and 80 more as they golf the greens at Kiawah Island’s exclusive River Course during the Delta MUSC Children’s Classic to be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, and Sunday, Sept. 24.    From 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, celebrities will be paired with PGA Tour pros, including Ben Crenshaw and Fred Couples, for the Delta Maxfli Celebrity Challenge, a two-man scramble on Kiawah’s world-famous Ocean Course.   MUSC faculty, staff and students can purchase discounted tickets beginning Thursday, Sept. 7, at the MUSC Wellness Center membership desk. Tickets for the Children’s Classic are $10 ($12 regular price; $15 at the gate). Tickets for the Celebrity Challenge are $15 ($20 at regular price; $25 at the gate).   The Delta MUSC Children’s Classic is the first Celebrity Players Tour tournament  to be held in South Carolina. Celebrities playing in the Children’s Classic will compete for a $250,000 purse. Two-man teams competing in the Delta/Maxfli Celebrity Challenge will play for a $100,000 purse.   Proceeds from both events will benefit the MUSC Children’s Hospital.   The Children’s Classic and Celebrity Challenge will be televised by the Golf Channel.    For more information, visit <http://www.muscgolfclassic.org>.
