College of Pharmacy holds first faculty, staff convocation 

The College of Pharmacy convened its first Faculty and Staff Convocation on Sept. 28  at the Harper Student Wellness Center Conference Room. 

This event, expected to be held annually, was established to recognize the accomplishments of the faculty and staff of the college. 

John Cormier, Pharm.D., dean, College of Pharmacy, and Rosalie Crouch, Ph.D., vice president for academic affairs and provost, reflected on the college's accomplishments and provided their vision of the college’s future goals. 

Receiving the awards are from left: Dr. Jurgen Rohr, Research Award; Sandy Spence, Staff Award; Dr. Melissa Blair, Teaching Award;  and Marc LaPointe, Service Award.

Three faculty and one staff member were recognized for their excellence in the following areas: Teaching Award: Melissa Blair, Pharm.D., assistant professor of pharmacy practice; Research Award: Jurgen Rohr, Ph.D., associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences; Service Award: Marc LaPointe, Pharm.D., assistant professor of pharmacy practice; and Staff Award: Sandy Spence, chief of staff.

John Markowitz, Pharm.D., associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences was recognized for receiving a Developing Scholar Award at the University Faculty Convocation.
