Employee award programs to consolidate

Ambulatory Care Services has combined two of its rewards and recognition programs into the new “Applause for Caring” program.

In the past, employees received “Applause” awards or “I Care” cards and buttons when they “went above the call of duty” or were “caught in the act of caring.”

The two programs have recently merged into the new “Applause for Caring” program.  The “Applause for Caring” cards are available in the Ambulatory Care clinics for patients, family members, and/or fellow employees to complete for someone they would like to recognize for providing a caring touch.

The cards can be deposited in the “Applause for Caring” box located in each clinical area.  The cards are then sent to the employee’s manager (along with an “I Care” button)  to be presented to the employee during a staff meeting.

In addition, each person who is applauded for caring is considered for the quarterly AREA award in Ambulatory Care. Up to four persons, who consistently demonstrate the organization’s values of Accountability, Respect, Excellence, and Adaptability, are recognized each quarter. These recipients are surprised by the Prize Patrol and are presented with a variety of gifts including a  certificate, an AREA award lapel pin, and a cake to share with their fellow employees. In addition, each of their names is engraved on the perpetual AREA Award plaque which may be viewed on the first floor of Rutledge Tower.
