Meet...Mike

Name: Mike Donovan.

Year and school: College of Nursing/2002.

Favorite TV show: No question about it: Three’s Company. I had a crush on Joyce Dewitt.

Favorite class: Pathophysiology so I can at least sound smart (thanks to Dr. Welton).

Favorite book: “The Art of Happiness” by Dalai Lama. It is one of those books that you should read at least once a year.

Item you MUST have in your refrigerator: Must have milk in the fridge at all times. I could go through a gallon a day if I weren’t a poor student.

Pet peeve: Those who complain about everything. I guess misery loves company but it gets old.

Plans for the future: I want to eventually work as a nurse anesthetist.

What do you find most rewarding about your job: Working as a CA with the wonderful nurses on 8 west, Hem/Oncology. They have taught me so much.

How do you stay fit? Recently I got into bicycling and try to ride about three times a week. I also started Yoga at the Wellness Center.

Memorable vacation: This past summer I traveled around Spain and Portugal for a month. It was one of my greatest experiences.

Guests at fantasy dinner: Johnny Depp, Joyce Dewitt (remember my favorite show?), all members of the Cranberries, Bill Mahr, and Salvador Dali (I would need a big table).

Something people don’t know about you: That I played bass guitar in a college alternative band playing in clubs and travelling the East Coast in a beat up old van doing things that I probably shouldn’t have been doing. (Did I mention the long-hair-past-my-shoulders part?).

Favorite quote: “There is no such thing as a problem without a gift in its hands for you” Richard Bach.
