Employees receive AREA awards for performance AREA (Accountability, Respect, Excellence Applause) awards were given to employees who have gone above and beyond their job description and have demonstrated actions exemplary to the mission, visions and values of the Medical University.  Employees received a $50 gift certificate to either Citadel or Northwoods mall. The AREA award recipients are:  Betsy Anderson, GCRC: Anderson provided bone density screening at the Bosch employee health fair which was an exhausting event. “She is the hardest working person I know. Her commitment to community outreach efforts really makes a difference.”  Candy Brown, Office of Research Integrity: “Candy always goes “the extra mile to provide quality service, education, research and patient care. She works extremely long hours (without extra compensation) out of dedication to her work to protect human research subjects and to assist MUSC researchers in improving medical care available for patients. No matter how busy she is with her own responsibilities, she always has time to assist her co-workers when they are in need.” Terry Harmon, Student Accounting: “Thank you for working with me concerning my out of state residency. You are the only one who really listened to what I had to say.”
