MUSC therapists donate time for Habitat for Humanity

In February,  some MUSC physical and occupational therapists donated time on a Saturday to Habitat for Humanity on behalf of Frances Blake, a former patient with bilateral amputations who has been accepted to the program. She needs to accummulate 300 hours of “sweat equity” in order to get her house built.

Pictured are: Amy Ferguson, Bob Ferguson, Angela Sellers, Laurie Woods, Erica Rouvalis, Lauren Dugan(Bishop England student), Jeanne Robinson and Terri Tierney.

From the MUSC Physical and Occupational Therapy departments: Kathy McGreevey, Amy Ferguson, Angela Sellers, Laurie Woods, Terri Tierney, Bruce Reeves, Jeanne Robinson, Jim Vearil, and Erica Rouvalis contributed six hours each towards Blake's sweat equity.

The group helped build a house on H street off of King Street.

They learned how to put up vinyl siding  and work on the  roof.  Painting was done on another Habitat House in the area and the neighborhood was cleaned up.

Anyone interested in helping Blake get an accessable and affordable home built contact Habitat for Humanity at 722-7145 and say you are working on behalf of Frances Blake. Brayden Kuhman is the coordinator.
