The “Information Technology Help Desk Tip of the Week”

The “Information Technology Help Desk Tip of the Week”
is a weekly feature in The Catalyst and reflects the most common problems and questions reported to the Help Desk. Watch for new tips every week.

System/Program: Logging into ClinLAN (Clinical Local Area Network)—I am having trouble logging into a ClinLAN workstation. What should I do?
If you are in a general hospital area, look on the monitor for an “Autolog” sticker. An autolog workstation has a generic login which is clearly displayed on the monitor.

Type in the autolog ID and click OK—no password is required. All autolog workstations have the major MUSC patient care applications as well as Simon Text Paging.

If you are having trouble logging into a ClinLAN workstation with your personal ID: 1) Try entering your password again. Since the password is hidden, any typographical errors made can't be seen. 2) If this is the first time you are using your userID, try leaving the password field blank. 3) If you are still unable to login, call the Help Desk at 792-9700.
