Meet...Amy Ann

Name: Amy Ann Donatelli.

School: Class of 2001, College of Medicine.

Born: New Brighton, Pa. But I grew up in Lexington, South Carolina.

Family: Parents, Bruce and Julie; sister, Christine; brother, Paul.

Favorite movie this year: Billy Elliott.

Favorite book: Right now it’s “A Prayer for Owen Meany.”

Favorite flower: Day lily.

Favorite TV show: “Friends” and reruns of “Seinfeld.”

Favorite sport: Tennis.

Why did you chose to study medicine: I wanted to use my mind to help other people.

Where are you going for your residency: University of Michigan. I'm doing a five-year residency in otolaryngology.

What event are you looking forward to after graduation:  A friend’s wedding.

What is your biggest challenge: Keeping everything balanced.

Dream vacation: A month in a villa on Italy's Amalfi coast.

Most treasured material possession: An oil painting that I found while traveling in Peru.

Something people don’t know about you: I like to sing.

Words of advice: Live each day to the fullest and always try to be thankful for what you have.

Accomplishments: The Henry Tracy Ivey Award as valedictorian for COM's senior class; AMWA Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Award for Academic Accomplishment of Women Medical Students; Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society; vice president of COM Class of 2001.
