Faculty, employees offered reduced fee for study

Beginning July 1, MUSC will offer full-time faculty and employees (those working at least 37.5 hours per week) a reduced fee to file for admission to study at the university.

The standard fee of $55 will be discounted to $25 for employees who are working full time at the time they file for admission.

To qualify, employees must include proof of full-time status with the application for admission. A letter from the employing department or verification from Human Resources will suffice.

If employees intend to file the application online at <http://www.musc.edu/es/admiss_1.htm> there is a place in the fee-payment section to indicate eligibility for the reduced application fee, subject to verification by Enrollment Services. The discount is not retroactive.  It must be determined at the point the application for admission is filed. The fee is non-refundable.

Those applying to Ph.D. programs (except for the Nursing Ph.D. and all international students) will continue to receive a full 100 percent discount of the fee and will pay nothing to file for admission. (Nursing Ph.D. applicants who are full-time employees will qualify for the discounted fee of $25.)

Admission as a matriculant or as a non-degree seeking student is subject to the same academic standards and the same time lines as for non-university employees.

If university faculty and staff have any questions about the process, they should contact Debbie Van Pelt, director of University Admissions,  at  vanpeltd@musc.edu, 792-2226, or stop by Enrollment Services, 41 Bee Street (the Vince Moseley building).

This reduction of the fee to $25 is offered by the Office of Enrollment Services to help support the professional development of university employees.
