Meet...Johnnie Mae

Name: Johnnie Mae Wright.  
            
Department: Physical Plant—Housekeeping.

Family: Children, Joseph, Yolanda and Carlos; 11 grandchildren.

Favorite book: I read the Bible but I also have read a couple of good books by Frank Perreti, This Present Darkness and The Oath.

Favorite food: Seafood.

Favorite restaurant: Country Buffet.

Favorite dish to cook: Potato pie.

Least favorite chore: Ironing.

Worst habit: I'm impatient.

Something you care for: The 1992 white Crown Victoria that my father left me.

What is your biggest personal challenge: Trying to get my job done the best that I can. I am responsible for the Vince Moseley and Basic Science buildings. 

Church you belong to: Greater Trinity A.M.E. Church.

Experience you found most rewarding: The smiles and joy that were brought to the sick and shut-in when they saw the Thanksgiving baskets we prepared for them. I am the chairman of that committee at my church.

Hobby: Reading. 

Dream vacation: Paris.

Most memorable experience: I was very impressed when I viewed the Holocaust Memorial in Washington with my own eyes. It makes you appreciate what you have.

If you suddenly had a free day, what would you do: I'd go shopping. I love to go to yard sales. Last week I found a beanie baby for fifty cents. That was a bargain.

Something people don't know about you: I collect cookie jars and porcelain dolls.

Words of advice: Try to do what is right and have a good relationship with your coworkers.
