Faculty Senate elections taking place on web

The 2001 Faculty Senate election process has begun.

As was begun last year, nominations and voting is being held online, resulting in an innovative election process that provides rapid and accurate results. Most importantly, the online election system is convenient and easy to use.

To submit nominations, or nominate yourself,  faculty can visit <http://www2.edserv.musc.edu/facsen/election.las

Nominations will be accepted until midnight Aug. 22.

Following this, voting will take place at the same Web page.

Ballots will be accepted from midnight Aug. 23 until midnight Aug. 30.

The Faculty Senate is the official communication body between faculty and administration.

The Faculty Handbook represents the contract between these two groups, and changes in this contract can only be made through the Faculty Senate.

Ray Greenberg, M.D., Ph.D., MUSC president, has reaffirmed his respect and willingness to listen to faculty concerns by recently granting the Senate a seat on the President’s Council.
