Meet...Ted

Name: Ted Bridges.

Favorite book: The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas.

Favorite room in your house: Second floor porch.

Ingredient you must have in your refrigerator: Lots of seafood and cheese.

What do you like the most about Charleston? The great food, the rich sense of community, and the waves at Folly Beach.

Least favorite chore: I’m not very much into cleaning.

Fondest childhood memory: Doing holiday skits with my older sister for our parents, grandparents and their friends.

Pet peeve: Arrogant and close minded people.

How do you stay fit? I bike a ton, lift weights, and try to get out in my kayak when I can (I haven’t had much time for this during the last six months).

Biggest challenge: First year of medical school.

Your idea of a perfect vacation: A year long trek, backpacking from Brownsville, Texas to Tierra del Fuego at the tip of Cape Horn in Argentina.

If you could trade places with someone for a day, who would you be? Forrest Gump—I’d love to have his kind of luck.

Memorable or latest trip: My best friend and I visited 36 of the 50 states last summer on a cross country road trip to some of America’s coolest cities and parks.

Most rewarding thing about being a medical student: I get to wear a cool white coat.

Favorite quote: JFK’s “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.”
