Imaging supplies recycling program saves money

by Christine Risher vonKolnitz
Recycling
You will save money every time you order a remanufactured toner cartridge. You can save anywhere from 30 to 50 percent or more depending on the type of cartridge you use.

You will also be helping the environment.

Old cartridges are collected, taken apart and reassembled with new parts and new toner. Reusing cartridges keeps them out of the landfill and saves you  lots of money.

Hospital employees will notice the name Advanced Cartridge Technology or ACT.

They are a local company that the hospital has contracted with for more than three years.

ACT is working with CCIT to bring the hospital and university remanu-factured and compatible imaging supplies. ACT guarantees their work.

The following steps will guide you through the cartridge ordering process:
1) Determine what type of laser toners, both black and color, ink jet or fax machine, or print ribbons you have.

Always keep one recycled cartridge on hand to change out the old one.  Place the old one in the empty box for recycling.

2) Call ACT at  769-7774 or Computer Connection at 792-2323.
If you aren't sure about what cartridge to order, ACT or Charlie Adams of Computer Connection will help you find the right one for your printing needs.

Tell Adams you are interested in saving money by using a remanufactured or compatible cartridge.

3) ACT will deliver the cartridges to your desk top. You can pay with a purchase order or credit card.

4) Recycle: Make sure to have your old cartridges ready for collection. ACT will take laser toners both black and color, fax machine, and ribbons back for recycling when they drop off your order.

5)  Ink jet recycling is slightly different. Always keep one recycled cartridge on hand.  Call ACT at 769-7774 to order a jet pack mailer.

You put your old ink jet cartridge in the postage paid box provided, be sure to include the return address label inside the box (that is what they use to get it back to you).

Also, be sure to save your receipt sticker. In one business week the company will mail you your recharged ink jet cartridge. Recycling your cartridge this way will save you anywhere from $15 to 20.

6) You can also drop off old cartridges and pick up new ones at the Computer Connection, 161 Rutledge Avenue. CCIT will be a volume buyer so if you are in a bind they may have your cartridge on hand.
