Cancer center to sponsor golf tournament Nov. 20

The 7th Annual Hollings Cancer Center Golf Tournament is accepting reservations for four-person teams shamble-format event to be held Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Kiawah Island Resorts' Turtle Point Golf Course.

In addition to a limited number of foursomes at $1,500 per team, a variety of sponsorship opportunities exist.

“Corporate sponsors are a vital part of the tournament...helping turn a day on the greens into financial support for the center's patient programs and cancer research,” said Tonya Pilkenton, director or special projects for Hollings Cancer Center. “There are wonderful benefits associated with each level of sponsorship.”
Proceeds from both the tournament and its accompanying silent auction are projected at approximately $100,000 which will be used to further research and direct patient care at Hollings Cancer Center.

One of the most popular items up for bid in this year's silent auction is a framed print from the 2001 Warburg Cup—signed by a number of golf legends including Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer.

For more information about the event or sponsorship opportunities, call Pilkenton at 792-1669 or visit http://www.hccgolf.musc.edu.
