Meet...Kelly

Name: Kelly Curry.

Department: Patient Access Services—Emergency Department Registration.

How long at MUSC: 1-1/2 years.

Pets: Precious, a brown and white Chihuahua.

Favorite TV show: Surgeries on the Discovery Channel.

Favorite room in your house: The bathroom because I'm able to take a relaxing bath.

Favorite song: True Companion by Marc Cohn.

Ingredient you must have in your refrigerator: Cheese.

Least favorite chore: Scrubbing the tub and toilet.

Fondest childhood memory: Going camping every summer with the family. 

Bad habit: Procrastination.

Pet peeve: When passing someone, I'll say “Excuse me,” and the reply is, “Uh huh.”  Almost as if they are disgusted you bothered them.

Plans for the future: Upon completion of nursing school, I would like to pursue my masters' degree. In addition I would love to find a wonderful  husband, and have between five and  seven kids.

Mentor/person you admire most: My mom. She struggled through so much and still accomplished all she ever dreamed of and then some—she makes me  proud.

Hobbies, activities in your free time: Sleep.

Memorable trip: A road trip to Boca Raton, Fla.—beautiful, fun, a lot of memories! 

Biggest challenge: Constantly being a good role model for my two younger sisters.

How do you stay fit: I'm still young—great metabolism.

Most rewarding thing about your job: Helping people when they feel their worst.

Guests at fantasy dinner: My deceased great-grandparents—elderly people are able to share vast knowledge.

Something people don't know about you: I have a vicious temper.
