Computer Tip of the Week

Did you know...That you can easily filter specific lab results from the list of all lab results in OACIS?

For instance, if you need to see all hemoglobin results, simply click (select) hemoglobin result, then click Filter in the upper left corner of the lab window.  Next, click Description then OK to display a list of all hemoglobin results since June of 1993.

When filtering group tests, such as Hem Panels, ABGs, CBCs, etc., use the second filter option, labeled Group Description, to get all component tests to display.  OACIS lab filters can also help you quickly see all critical result values.  From the Filter window, click on the Abnormal Flag filter option then click within the Value field. Delete any characters already in the field and type upper case LL or HH (critical Low or High flag) and click OK. Remember, to access the Filter button on the list of labs you must first click/select a lab result—it will be grayed out until you do so.
