Blood mobile coming to Horseshoe Monday, Aug. 5

The American Red Cross blood mobile will be at the MUSC Horseshoe from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5

Blood supplies have been low and won't get much better until after Labor Day and during the month of July the  Red Cross has had to import more than 1,200 units of blood from other parts of the United States.

MUSC employees who donate on Monday can use this opportunity to receive credit for their team or department. To create a team, team captains must notify Annie Lovering of the American Red Cross that they are forming a team and turn in a sign-up sheet to the donor room (279 MUH). If the sheet isn’t full at the time, then added names can be e-mailed later (loverina@musc.edu).

Appointments are not required to donate blood on Aug. 5.

For additional information on the drive, contact Patrick Lamontagne at 810-5330 or e-mail lamontagnp@usa.redcross.org.
