Letters of gratitude to Dr. Ray Greenberg, MUSC staff

Since becoming president, I (we) have received many letters commending our faculty and staff for outstanding patient care. These letters, or excerpts from letters, from patients and their families provide ample evidence of their high regard for our clinical services. I am pleased to share some of them with you, and recognize those who are providing skilled and compassionate care.

Dear Dr. Greenberg:
As a patient at MUSC, I witnessed first-hand how the doctors and staff rely on divine guidance to help their patients in any way. As a patient going deaf, I was assigned to Dr. Paul R. Lambert. He informed me that I had a good chance of getting my hearing back. After undergoing surgery, my hearing ability increased from 30 to 75 percent.  The doctors and staff at MUSC have saved my sense of hearing and have given me hope to survive any other medical condition through their wisdom and spirit, and I wanted to praise them for their help.

Dear Dr. Greenberg:
I am writing to bring to your attention the outstanding care and support I received from your staff in the Radiology Department, as follows; Drs. Renan Uflacker, Charles Heaton, Mike Brown, Ranjiv Saini, Jon Carmain, Debra Clontz, R.N., Pam Porter, R.N., Robin Brothers, Janet Brown, R.N., Brenda Swant, R.N., Rita Ferris, Mary Spulgis, R.N., Latish Myers, Beatrice Robinson, Pat Kearns, R.N., and Karen Parish.

I was referred to Dr. Uflacker, and after he reviewed my case, lung cancer (Adenocarcinoma) metastasis to liver, he accepted me as a patient. I received the best treatment and care from, what I believe to be, the best Radiology Department in the tri-county area. They went the extra mile to ensure the comfort of my family members, and myself during those very trying times.

The team of dedicated and caring professionals expressed a professional and teamwork attitude, which is for others to emulate.  I truly appreciate their help.

Dear Dr. Greenberg:
After receiving treatment from the staff members at MUSC, especially Dr. Gary Headins, and Suzie Johnson, I would like to extend my greatest thanks to their efforts.

After being sent home from another hospital, I was admitted to MUSC, and the staff there was patient and concerned with my hip and leg problems.  I received sincere, yet professional help and I would like to extend my thanks to the staff at MUSC, for providing exceedingly good attention to me as a patient and as a person.

Dear Dr. Greenberg:
My wife had to undergo major surgery to remove a brain tumor.  We had the expertise of Dr. Sunil Patel, who would quickly become our source of hope and guidance.  Through his caring and thoughtfulness, along with many other members of the MUSC staff, my wife received great care.

After the surgery was complete, Dr. Patel showed confidence in his co-workers, as he allowed them to field some of our many concerns of post-op.  Dr. Patel and his staff never failed to bolster our spirits and reduce our stress.

We were also very astonished when Dr. Patel offered our family his e-mail address and phone number to contact him when we had any questions. He went beyond his call of duty, as did many of the staff members at MUSC, including the nursing staff at the neurosurgery department and the cashiers in the cafeteria.

The staff, as a whole at MUSC, displayed the utmost professional, reliable, and friendly service to our family. Thank you all for being there, and never once falling short of our expectations.

Dear Dr. Greenberg:
Recently my husband had surgery at MUSC. I would like to commend you for the treatment we received from the entire staff. There were many doctors, interns, and others involved, who were very professional and efficient.

I would like to extend an extra thanks to Dr. Terry Day and Dr. Michael Tabar.

Dear Dr. Greenberg:
I would like to praise the services of the office of complementary and alternative Medicine. I am aware of the public interest in alternative medicine, and I am pleased that the university is actively expanding these options for patients.

This year I developed a vexing health problem I found that each provider at MUSC is superb at their approach to help patients in their recovery. I found how warm and welcoming the reception staff was to my needs. I would highly recommend the alternative medicine that is offered at MUSC, without hesitation.

Dear. Dr. Greenberg:
I have been admitted to MUSC twice in the past six months. I would like to thank you for the warm gesture of a fruit basket upon my admission. This shows the hospital's keen sense of attention to detail.

My experiences with Dr. William T. Creasman, Dr. Renand Uflacker, and Mr. Michael Walter, have been very professional and caring. The nurses have also executed courteous care, especially, Norna Jean Scott, R.N.

I would like to extend my thanks to all those staff member, doctors, and nurses at MUSC, who have made my time here positive and hopeful.

Dear Mr. Mengle:
I am writing to thank the MUSC bus drivers for all they do to serve the commuters. I think that the vast majority of them qualify for sainthood. The number of obstacles that they avoid each day on the road boggles my mind. In addition to their excellent driving skills, they are most cheerful and friendly.
