American Red Cross in need of blood donors

South Carolina's hospitals are beginning to evaluate the potential need to postpone elective surgeries as the state's blood supply dropped sharply during the holidays.

The American Red Cross, and MUSC patients, really do need blood.

All blood types are needed, with types O positive and negative, A negative, B positive being the  most critically needed.

For information on the American Red Cross, visit http://www.redcross.org.

To make an appointment in the MUSC Donor Room, room 279 Main Hospital, call 792-0219.
