Name: Betty Jo Morgan.

Department: Volunteer Services.

How long at MUSC: 1 year. My grandson was also a volunteer and introduced me to Volunteer Services.

City you were born: Charleston. My entire family lives here.

Family, pets: Two daughters—Donna, Brenda—and a son, Randy. A poodle, Angel.

What you’re reading right now: East of Eden, by John Steinbeck. 

Special place in the world: On the water.

Fondest childhood memory: Going to baseball games with my daddy.

Pet peeve: Bad manners.

Hobbies: Getting in my pasture on my tractor; seeing my eight grandchildren play sports.

Perfect vacation: Going out to Edisto with Angel.

Latest trip(s): I won a trip to a cottage in Rhode Island at a silent auction. I also stayed in a beach house next to Tara Lipinski’s at Kiawah.

Most rewarding thing about your job: The friendliness of everyone here; they go overboard to help you out.

Words of advice: Make every day the best you can, and face it with a smile.
