Society to host final writing seminar

The Apple Tree Society is sponsoring a Brown Bag Session, “Assigning and Evaluating Writing,” from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, in room 405 of the Library/Administration Building. This Brown Bag Session is the final in a three-part series, “Writing Across the Colleges.”  Jennie Ariail, Ph.D., and Tom Smith, Ph.D., from The Center for Academic Excellence and The Writing Center are leading the sessions.

Upon completion of the session, participants will be able to: identify purposes for specific writing assign-ments; discuss the elements of effective writing assignments; identify methods to speed evaluation of student writing; discuss methods for providing effective feedback on student writing

CME, CEU and CNE credit will be available.

MUSC designates this educational activity for a maximum of one  category one credit towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those  credits that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

MUSC is accredited by the Accreditation  Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

MUSC College of Medicine awards 0.1 CEU per contact hour to each non-physician participant who successfully completes this educational activity. The CEU (Continuing Education Unit) is a nationally recognized unit of measure for continuing education and training activities that meet specific educational planning requirements. 

MUSC maintains a permanent record of  participants who have been awarded CEUs. This activity is designated for up to .1 CEUs.

This activity for 1.2 contact hours is provided by MUSC, College of Nursing, Office of Continuing Education, which is accredited as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
