Name: Deborah Deas.

Department: Dean's Office—College of Medicine and Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

How long at MUSC: 10 years on faculty; 5 years as Resident/Fellow.

Family: Daughters, Tahirih, 9, and Nasim, 21; our Boykin spaniel, Lady; and Theodore, the cat.

Favorite book or reading material: Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison.

Favorite room in the house: Kitchen.

Favorite section of the newspaper: Style and Family Life.

Least favorite chore: Washing the dishes.

Ingredient you must have in your refrigerator: Teriyaki marinade sauce.

Fondest childhood memory: Traveling with my mother.

A day you'd like to re-live: Visit to Baha'i Shrines in Haifa, Israel.

Pet peeve: People who don't follow through.

Hobbies: Golf, running, and reading.

Most rewarding thing about your job: My research and working with students.

Guests at fantasy dinner: Nelson Mandela, Harriet Tubman and Baha'i Faith leader Louis Gregory.

Something people don't know about you: I got lost in Moscow, Russia, in 1977.
