Meet...Amy

Name: Amy V. Blue, Ph.D.

Department: College of Medicine Dean’s Office and the Department of Family Medicine. 

How long at MUSC: 6 years.

Family: Husband, Arch “Chip” Mainous III, Ph.D.; son, Ryan, 8; and two Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs, Jack and Rosie.

Favorite book or reading material: Travel essays/literature.

Favorite section of the paper: The comics.

Pet peeve: When people are rude.

How do you stay fit: Running.

Guests at fantasy dinner: Jesus, Eleanor Roosevelt, Winston Churchill, and Bruce Springsteen.

Something people don’t know about you: I have a book published in Greek.

Best advice you’ve ever received and who gave it to you: “Take the job, and make it into something you enjoy doing.” Given to me by my husband with respect to my first job in medical education.

Something you tried once and will never do again: The bungee jump at Alhambra Hall last year.
