MUSC Presidential Scholars 2004-05

The Presidential Scholars Program brings together selected students from the university's six college to explore the complex social, political, and human issues that shape the delivery of health care services in South Carolina and the nation.

The scholars address issues that transcend their disciplines and professional boundaries. In doing so, these students develop new perspectives on important health care professionals and can become leaders of health care change.

This year's activities began April 7  with a Health Care Disparities Symposium. Scholars Day on April 13 featured poster presentations, recognition of this year's scholars, and induction of 42 new scholars. The outgoing scholars were also recognized.

New Presidential Scholar faculty include: Kelly Ragucci, Pharm.D.,Terry Steyer, M.D., Medicine and senior faculty, Jack Feussner, M.D. Faculty rotating off are Leonard Egede, M.D., Medicine and Kristi Lenz, Pharm.D., Pharmacy.

The Presidential Scholars for academic school year 2004-05 are:
Dental Medicine—Kendall Aldrich, Charles Brown, Benjamin Gantt, Chris Henniger, David Hicklin, Anna Tyson, Jessica Woller. 

Medicine—Bobby Bhatti, Janel Brayboy, Ted Bridges, Andrew Cheng, Berdine Edgar, David Forsh, James Hawk, Sarah Heatherington, William Holt, Eboni Lance, Dianna Plyler, Priya Pujara, Lee Taylor, Thuy Vu, Laura Waddle.

Graduate Studies—Rebecca Boehm.

Health Professions—Jeffrey Arnol, Sean Eisshofer, Christina Hunter, Christina Hyatt, Rives Lucas, Harvey Putnam, Jessica Smith, Eric Sutton.

Nursing—Cynthia Allen, Natali Amaradasa, Berry Anderson, Rhoda Ascanio, Kelly Hylton, Shana Smalls, Mei Yang.

Pharmacy—Samantha DeLoache, Tiffany Menze, Sundae Stelts, Jacquetta Williams.
