Meet...Jennifer

Name: Jennifer Lyn Donovan.

Department: Psychiatry. I'm a food scientist and pharmacologist.

How long at MUSC: Four years, before that I was living in France working for the French government.

City in which you were born: Boston.

Favorite book or reading material: All day I read scientific and medical journals, so if I ever read anything for fun it's a saucy novel from the Bridget Jones genre.

Favorite TV program: I like the Food Network.

Ingredient you must have in your refrigerator: Scotch Bonnet Salsa. I like it hot.

Pet peeve: Too much air conditioning. It's cold here in the South.

Hobbies: I love to cook, eat good food, and drink good wine. I love to listen to loud music and dance and jump around in my house. I love water and like to swim in the ocean.

How do you stay fit: I do a lot of yoga and take classes like the body bar challenge and abs and legs at the Wellness Center. I also have a trainer named Walter, and he has me lifting enormous, heavy weights.

The most interesting job you've ever had: Coming up with new ideas for snack foods out of the bits and pieces that come off the Quaker Rice Cake line. I also did some research on toilet bowl water, but that's another story.

If you were told this was your last day to live, what would you do: Freak out for a moment I guess, but then I would fight with all my will to survive.
