Volunteer mock disaster victims needed Aug. 20

Thirty to 50 victim volunteers are needed from 6 p.m., Aug. 20, to 1 a.m., Aug. 21 for a homeland security drill.

Victim volunteers will assemble at Sterett Hall on the old Navy Base at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 20. They will be given an overview of the drill, safety instructions, training for their roles in the drill, and made up with simulated wounds and injuries. Dinner will be provided.

Volunteers will be divided into groups and transported to the drill venues. Victims will then be transported to drill venues and will be brought back to Sterett Hall where their simulated wounds and injuries will be removed and then participate in a short debriefing. Victim volunteers should anticipate getting wet and bring a dry change of clothes. Volunteers should expect to finish between midnight and 1am on Saturday, August 21.
