Name: Laura Aycock.

Department: Medicine—Hematology/Oncology.

How long at MUSC: 2 years.

Family: Husband, Jason.

Favorite TV show: The O.C. I know it’s ridiculous, but I’m hooked.

Favorite room in your house: The kitchen. Not that I cook that much, but the kitchen in the only room with much charm.

Favorite Web site: google.com—you can find anything.

Ingredient you must have in your refrigerator: Milk.

Bad habit: Leaving the fridge open.

Pet peeve: South Carolina drivers.

Person you admire the most: My mother, who taught me to love life and literature.

Hobbies: I love to do theatre and enjoy Charleston Stage Company shows at the Dock Street Theatre.

Biggest challenge: Be who I am and not be  influenced by those around me.

Idea of a perfect vacation: Anywhere I can spend quality time with Jason and my family.

Most rewarding part about your job: Working with Dr. Frank Brescia (professor of medicine).

Something people don’t know about you: When I was younger, I did gymnastics. I was the national level 9 uneven bar champion (in my age group) in 1997. I just recently stopped coaching due to a lack of time.
