OfficeMax, Children’s Hospital team up to benefit children

MUSC Children’s Hospital and OfficeMax Enterprise Solutions have teamed to coordinate a program that provides cost savings to MUSC departments, but alternatively supports children of MUSC. OfficeMax made a $500 donation, the first of many, to MUSC Children’s Hospital on March 16.

For every MUSC employee, Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) and university purchase, OfficeMax will make a donation of the purchase amount to the Children’s Hospital. This means that, with every employee's purchase of home and office products and supplies, that individual’s purchases also support children of MUSC.

OfficeMax, a leader in both business-to-business and retail office products distribution, developed this employee purchase program specifically for MUSC.

The program provides great values on office products and supplies employees and staff rely upon and supports MUSC Children’s Hospital with a donation from purchases made from MUHA, university and personal purchase from MUSC employees.

MUSC employees can buy office products and supplies at the same discounted rate that’s in place for MUSC, providing savings of up to 80 percent.

Employees can order products for home, school,  gift or other needs, by phone or online, at http://www.OfficeMaxSolutions.com

OfficeMax Enterprise Solutions is one of two exclusive office supply vendors for MUHA’s Novation contract and one of several state contracts.

Benefits to OfficeMax’s contracts include minority and small business programs, special promotions, product consistency, contract pricing and the benefit of an MUSC representative on campus. New for 2005 are retail connect cards for emergency store purchases, the employee purchase and donation program and a new health care-focused catalog.

“We’re the only office products provider to health care, who can deliver it all,” said Lisa Pool, OfficeMax Enterprise Solutions representative. Pool is excited about the new programs she’s coordinating for MUSC on behalf of OfficeMax and looks forward to both the hospital and associates to reap the benefits.

“I think this is a great opportunity providing the proverbial win-win scenario,” said Lyndon Key, M.D., professor and chairman of pediatrics, MUSC Children’s Hospital.
