July 28: Want to Buy a Home, but don’t have the down payment?
Michaele Russell and Debbie Kidd, Homeownership Resources Center-Family Services, will give tips for buying your first home. The process can be time consuming and very stressful, so the session will discuss various down payment assistance programs, low interest rate programs and forgivable grants for the first time homebuyer. Find out how to enroll in a First-Time Homebuyer workshop where eligible graduates can participate in many first time homebuyer mortgage options such as the South Carolina State Housing Program (ex. $4,000 down payment given, home mortgage loan rate at 4 percent interest). Had a mortgage in the past? You could still qualify. Credit problems preventing homeownership? Russell and Kidd will give information on how to overcome this obstacle.
